Hollywood. I swear. Everyone gets so up in arms about the presidential race when maybe they should be putting some of their effort and energies into the place where many more opinions are formed and influenced. It's not like congress will let the president start another war. It's not like the president enacts any legislation. Yes, there will likely be key positions appointed to the supreme court this term, but other than that, there are FAR more influential people than the prez. The battles of ideas and values are fought out at lower levels. So the questions to ask yourself are: what do you want from this country? How can we get it? How can good ideas reach the masses? Where better than entertainment? That's what I say. Someday I'll get myself in a position where I can do something about it.
